Tulip Quilt for a Young Mademoiselle

Lavender and green and yellow and tulips
A spring itself quilt for a new baby,
a just toddling toddler or a young Mademoiselle.

PS.  Every time I see the word Mademoiselle, I remember with a wince that moment in France when I had made the transition from Mademoiselle to Madame ... I was so chagrined ... it had nothing to do with a wedding ring and everything to do with wrinkles!

The fabrics are mostly grown-up fabrics ... except the
one with the cutest little chubby birds.

Neatly folded, waiting to
keep someone warm

How a well loved quilt usually
looks ... crumpled up!

Each block is 9" and is a basic Bears Paw block
with the tulip set in the 'paw'.

I design with the Bears Paw block quite often, it's very versatile.
I used it in my Artichoke Garden Quilt with a log cabin-ish 'paw'.

As designed in EQ ... have I said before how much I love EQ!

Sold on Etsy ... this quilt traveled 2,079 miles
to it's new home in Connecticut

Matching Pinwheel Quilts ... for Twins?

I've had these darling daisy fabrics for a long, long time and was waiting for just the right project to use them.

I decided they would make a great pair of matching quilts for sisters or twin baby girls or cousins ... my cousins and I always got the same gift from our grandparents, only in different colors ... I always loved that!

The pattern for the quilts is the same ... the traditional pinwheel in a contemporary set ... but each is done with a different set of daisy fabrics.

And I am quite taken with the backs ... I might even like
the backs better than the fronts!  I'm more and more drawn to the modern quilt movement ... I really enjoy the minimalism.

The fabrics used are coordinates from the same fabric line.
One set of fabrics are bright with small tidy daisies.

And the other set of fabrics has a more pastel effect with big bouncy daisies.

And my favorite free motion quilting with coiling swirly swirls.

The background is a crisp white tone on tone with
itty bitty flowers.

The backs are both set with green ... both are just darling.
One with little yellow daisies, and one with a bouquet of colorful little flowers.

Cute as can be and ready to ship.

These quilts are available for sale in my Etsy shop.
